Profit Leak Audits for hospitality

You’re already making the money.
You’re just not keeping it.

Most cafés leak $300 to $1,000 a week in profit they never see: supplier creep, over-rostering, quiet waste. Leak finds it, prices it, and hands you the fix. Built by someone who ran cafés for a decade, checked by a real person every week.

The problem

Every hospitality business leaks profit.

Rarely through one big mistake. Almost always through hundreds of small daily decisions: a supplier price rise here, an extra rostered hour there. Each one invisible. Together, expensive.

Why now

Three cost rises just hit hospitality. You can’t stop any of them.

2026 has quietly rewritten café margins. Two changes have already landed. The third lands on 1 October. You can’t opt out, and you can’t lift prices fast enough to cover them, so the only margin left is the one you’re losing to leaks you can’t see.

Payday super

Super now leaves your account every payday, not once a quarter. Your biggest outgoings just got faster, and any slack in your wages bill is now a weekly cash problem.

Live since 1 July 2026

Minimum wage up again

Award wages rose 4.75% and the National Minimum Wage is now $26.44 an hour. Every rostered hour costs more, which means every over-rostered hour costs more too.

From 1 October 2026

Card surcharge ban

You can no longer pass Visa, Mastercard or eftpos fees to customers. The margin you were quietly recovering at the terminal simply disappears.

When your costs move weekly, a leak you can’t see compounds weekly. A Profit Leak Audit finds exactly where your margin is going, before 1 October makes it hurt more.

The process

How a Profit Leak Audit works.

  1. Upload your reports

Your POS export, wage report and supplier invoices. Files you already have, nothing to install, nothing to integrate.

  2. Our engine analyses thousands of data points

Every line item, every shift, every invoice, checked against your café's own targets and its own trading history.

  3. Patterns identified

Supplier creep. Roster drift. Food cost movement. The quiet ones that never make it to a P&L review.

  4. A real person reviews every finding

Someone who has run cafés reads every flag before you do. Nothing reaches your report unchecked.

  5. Your audit is written

Plain English. Every leak priced in dollars, with the evidence behind it.

  6. Priority roadmap

Not forty recommendations. Just the handful that matter, in the order that pays fastest.

  7. Profit recovered

We walk you through it for 90 minutes. You leave knowing exactly what to fix first, and what it's worth.

Why Leak

Why owners trust this audit.

Built by someone who owned cafés

Almost ten years of ownership, and 21 in hospitality. Leak wasn't designed in a boardroom. It was built to answer the questions Mel asked herself every Monday morning.

Our engine finds what people can't

A person can't compare every invoice line against six months of history. Our engine does, for every supplier, every week of your data.

A real person reviews every report

The engine proposes. A hospitality expert disposes. Nothing lands in your audit that hasn't been challenged by someone who's run the pass on a Saturday.

Recommendations you can act on Monday

No frameworks, no jargon. Each finding comes priced, prioritised, and written as an instruction you could hand your manager.

Meet Mel

Twenty-one years in hospitality.

I have been in hospitality since I was 13, and I have owned cafés for almost ten years. I know what a fourteen-hour Saturday feels like. I know what it’s like to work that hard, look at the bank account on Monday, and wonder where the money went.

The answer was never one big thing. It was a supplier quietly putting cents on the coffee. A roster built for the week we hoped for, not the week we traded. Waste nobody wrote down. Small leaks, every single week, that no P&L ever showed me.

Leak is the audit I needed and could never buy. The engine does what I couldn’t: read every line of every invoice against months of history. I do what it can’t: decide what actually matters, because I’ve stood where you’re standing.

Mel, Founder

Questions

Asked before, answered plainly.

Can I sign an NDA?

Yes. We'll sign yours, or provide ours, before you send a single file. Confidentiality isn't a favour; it's the baseline.

Who owns my data?

You do, at every stage. It's never sold, never shared, and never used to train AI. It exists for one purpose: your audit.

How long does an audit take?

Most audits are delivered within two weeks of receiving your reports, followed by your 90-minute walkthrough.

Can this be done remotely?

Yes. The entire engagement is remote. Upload from anywhere in Australia; the walkthrough happens over video.

Do you need Xero?

No. Your POS sales export, a wage or roster report, and your supplier invoices are enough. Accounting software helps but is never required.

What reports do I upload?

Three things you already have: a sales export from your POS (Lightspeed, Square, or similar), a wages report from your roster system, and supplier invoices. PDFs are fine.

Can I delete my data afterwards?

Yes. Say the word and it's permanently deleted: files, reports, everything. Not archived. Gone.

Most hospitality businesses don’t have a sales problem. They have a visibility problem.

Leak simply helps you keep more of the profit you’re already earning.
